Summer ends
(Picture: Gloriously British by Gresham Blake).
The chill in the morning air and the thundering showers means that we are entering the most beautiful season here in the North. A season of soft sweaters, comforting tweeds and - best of all - covert coats.
Let the leaves fall from the trees and the autumn wardrobe leave the cupboards!

The coat is nice, but I would ditch the pocket square. And the shirt ;)
ReplyDeleteI agree about the shirt.
ReplyDeleteIncidentally, I don't have this coat. I just thought the picture was nice, and Gresham Blake make nice clothes. As I now have five different covert coats, I really shouldn't get any more. The last one I bought was chocolate brown, though.
I'm more divided when it comes to wearing pocket hankies on overcoats, though. I think it can work.
Yes, I too think it could work. Perhaps... ;) Maybe you will experiment and show us?
ReplyDeleteDull as I am, I have only one covert coat. But I like it very much. It's a wool and cashmere-blend in a dark gray herringbone pattern.
Hmm, a few coat/hankie shots could be fun to do.
ReplyDeleteYou're not dull at all, it's just that I have loved covert coats for many years now and tend to buy a new one every two years or so. Every time I try to get a different sort of coat it ends up feeling wrong.
blue is better
ReplyDeleteI have a covert coat in navy blue, too! It's from New & Lingwood and really heavy, and I wore it almost every day for two winters.
